Polis Apolis :
a) city without citizes, deserted town
b) city without organization or institutions
The project Polis Apolis consists a record of some urban voids or empty spaces , in areas such as Keramikos, Tauros, Petralona, Thission and Metaksourgio - districts of Athens that straddle the boundary of the central sector of the city. These areas, although spatially belong in developing parts of the city have many spaces that remain untapped and abandoned because of the prevailing conditions, such as the Greek crisis. In this projects, all the urban voids are treated as small landscapes. Μost of the images combine the different view of an architectural structure with the undersigned sense of vitality to the surroundings. On the other hand, they reflect the interference of interference and the neglect in these urban voids.
These sites were immortalized by the nighttime, where the living human elements are absent but they have already left behind their traces. This photographic record relates to a frontal observation of the photographer towards the cityscapes of Athens. Furthermore, through the night mode the atmosphere acquires some dramatic elements, such as the bright colors and the change of urban voids to theatrical sceneries.
