The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America

Jamie Simon-Wainick works as a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty in Wayne, New Jersey. Alongside her career in real estate, she enjoys reading, traveling, and fundraising for the local fire department. Also, Jamie Simon is passionate about serving the community and is an active member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).

Founded in 1967, CCFA is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization with the primary objective of fueling research into Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis cures and treatment and improve the lives of those affected. Crohn’s, an inflammatory disease, affects any part of the gastrointestinal system, but mainly affects the bowel. Colitis, on the other hand, solely affects the large intestine.

CCFA funds awareness programs as well as research into the causes, treatments, and cures for the two diseases, and has so far granted more than $400 million to these ends. Entirely nonprofit, it relies on funds from members and donors. The organization works with major medical institutions for research and clinical trials, funding uncharted or underdeveloped facets of research. Also, in partnership with learning institutions and community outreach programs, it undertakes awareness programs, advocacy workshops, and education for patients, caregivers, and health professionals.
