Elegant Elephants | Jacquard Design

Brief
To design a collection of contemporary Jacquard furnishing fabrics inspired by a traditional Indian motif.
Motif Ideation
Hand drawn motifs exploring Form, Treatment and Detailing
Surface Design
The developed motifs were used to compose repeats.  Leveraging the non uniformity, big repeat size and variation in design the jacquard has to offer, the motifs were explored with size, fill, composition, overlaps and colour to create the surfaces.
Design 1 - Juxtaposing Elephant motifs with foliage. Repeat width: 14.28"
Design 2 - Geometric version of peek-a-boo Elephants. Repeat width: 7.14"
Design 3 - The Damask reinterpretation. Repeat width: 7.14"
Design 4 - The Marching Elephants. Repeat width: 3.57"
Design 5 - All over foliage to complement the other surfaces. Repeat width: 7.14"
