For this project, aptly named "Color Studies", the main philosophy was to create an original work based on another artist’s or photographer’s work. This can be tricky because of copyright laws and plagiarism and therefore, it is important to change the inspired project enough to where it is a new and original piece of artwork. For my base picture, I picked an image where there were not many elements and to where I could have the creative freedom to explore different design elements in my own design.

Once I found my base image, I opened photoshop and used the crop tool to develop the image’s arrangement in my own artistic way. I then added different elements to the design such as the counter becoming a table, the glass becoming a martini glass, ice cubes within the drink, I different fruit on top of the glass, and even a wooden beam in the background that had sting lights. From all these changes, I was able to create a new image entirely but still have the remanence of the base image.

After all these changes, I created four different color swatches that contained a monochrome, complementary, split complementary, and tetrad color scheme. Once I found my desired colors, I used color philosophy to determine the colors within the photo composition to make my image stand out even more. These are the results of each changed composition.
