THE PROBLEM
According to Edutopia.org, between 80 and 90 percent of college students engage in procrastination. But procrastination isn’t tied to inherit laziness or lack of care. The same article cites an 1989 study stating: “college students often procrastinated because of indecision: They spent too much time worrying about whether they were doing an assignment correctly, prolonging the time they spent on even simple tasks. For these students, procrastination was a coping mechanism to avoid stressful experiences.” This leaves the question: is there a way to motivate users while also helping them stay on track with their various tasks?
FOCUSD aims to be an all-in-one task scheduler, time manager and cheerleader for those who struggle with procrastination.
