A book to experience sight loss
The project is a book that doesn't seem to be muchmore in the beginning, (the text is from Antoine Dollat, a yet to be discoveredauthor). Throughout the pages the reader will begin to experience visualdiscomfort, later a bit blurring, spots of colors, visual "noise" will slowly increase, until the end where it will be almost impossible to read.
I explore the degeneration of sight, forcing thereader to change the angle, get closer, blink or even touch if he wants to keepreading and understanding (which he might forget to do because the decipheringcould become too big a task), getting him closer to understand what partiallyblind people live every day.
The loss of sight is something that very fewunderstand; even I can’t pretend to. I want to break free the relationship between the ones whosee and the others because it is so often clumsy and closed. With this work I try tointroduce dialogue and questioning. It may seem very ambitious, but even ifthe reader so much as realizes the marvel of the fact of seeing, I will feel Iwas heard.
