OBS – Mediakit & Selected Work
OBS, founded by brothers Johannes and Matthias Schweizer, creates leather accessories and clothing. Their German-made designs bring together contemporary trends and concerns in a socially relevant, textile examination of today’s world.
OBS investigates society with artistic spirit to create seasonless collections that showcase the budding potential of daily life. Closely drawing from the designers’ diverse creative backgrounds, their design research involves a mix of architecture, performing and visual arts, as well as fashion and product design. Paired back beauty, function and uncompromising quality are combined with the aim of profoundly improving the everyday.
Concepts that define the label are reflected in OBS’s transparent and strict manufacturing process. The idea of contemporary craftsmanship is especially visible in their leather bags: raw edges, visible seams and unlined inners. The label’s complexity is shown through the use of simple materials and minimalist designs. Sharp lines and precise dimensions are key expressions of a no-detail-left-unchecked approach
