PSA Posters: Adult ADHD

PSA Posters for Adult ADHD AWARENESS:
Complete Mockup of PSA campaign
Project Brief:
Create three print ad posters that can be used as a PSA print campaign. These posters will promote an important topic that affects individuals and communities, of your choosing
Define:
I worked through multiple topics and landed on Adult ADHD because it affects many in my family and close friends. I personally wanted to learn more about it and find ways that I would be able to help the community understand. And also help those who are working through finding support and understanding for themselves. I did lots of research to get started. I started doing sketches of ideas of all kinds from this research.

Then I spoke with many friends and family members that could help me with personal experiences. I learned so much and got some really great ideas from this deep dive. A sister mentioned that a Dr had said that having ADHD was like having a brain with a Ferrari engine and a bikes brakes. I thought that was an incredible visual and worked to break it into multiple ideas.

The posters started to take shape. I continued and looked into ADHD posters that have been designed. I also did some research on the website that I was using for my call to action. This is where I got my color palette. I started some digital compositions to see how things would take shape.

Design:
I started by working with some layout ideas. I was still trying to decide on visual ideas, and the exact color palette. If I wanted to go more subtle, or bright and high contrast.
I started to evolve into a stronger format and started to play with types and hierarchy. I also decided on a final poster subject and wording. I worked on multiple versions and receive a few rounds of feedback. A large part of this was that the background was distracting. I removed it and continued to better the hierarchy.
After finalizing the last few things and trying to really get every last detailed lined up, I polished up the final and prepared them for printing.
I learned so much through this project, not just about design, but about Adult ADHD. I'm grateful I got to do some research to help me have a better understanding. I know that the more information you have the more creative you can be. I learned a lot about simplicity and hierarchy in this project. I instinctively thought that it needed more imagery for it to be most effective. I learned that simplicity can speak the loudest.
