Video Motion Design

Video Motion Design Projects
I often freelance for online creators, helping to incorporate elements or sequences that they would otherwise be unable to on their own.

Below is a selection of work I have created, time stamped at the appropriate part of the video as it appears on YouTube.
Alpha Protocol Intro and Thumbnail
Made using a combination of models captured in Blender and stylised with After Effects; This intro was inspired by a mix of James Bond, bombastic and surreal intros, along with a very strong computers and hacking twist, both of which are relevant to the overall themes of the game.

By using very familiar elements from computer and hacking culture, such as terminals and basic displays, and smashing it with a surreal look with larger than life spy-thrill elements; I believe that this intro has the James Bond feeling whilst being unique and relevant to the game.

The thumbnail was created in Photoshop, using a various mix of elements and typographic skills.

Need For Speed Carbon Intro and Thumbnail
Animated in Blender, using custom assets created in Blender, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and composted in After Effects; this goal of this intro was to emulate the look and feel of an old school Need For Speed game, using elements directly from the series as well as fitting with a determined song.

By incorporating a more energetic camera that follows the BMW M3 at speed with titles that are incorporated diegetically throughout the intro; I believe this intro has a very appropriate mood and feel that presents the titles in an interesting way.
MarleyThirteen Video Graphics
Created using pre-existing vector assets; these motion graphics are used as calls to action within the video to help drive engagement.

I feel that the spirals that a part of Marley's brand are incorporated stylishly with a transition that persists throughout the animation, as well as by using an up to date (at time of creation) screen grab of his YouTube channel page.

The final end card had to be designed to highlight a singular video that the viewer could then click onto as well as showcase Marley's brand and social medias.
The subtle animations were created to draw the eye, with the spinning social media icons being offset to draw particular attention to them, with the next video and channel logo being equal on the screen.

They do their jobs without much fanfare, but are fitting for Marley's fun personality and brand identity to be used over a number of videos and remain appropriate.

Somewhere In Nevada II Full Album Visualiser
Due to being over 2 hours of content, needing to accommodate a wide range of distinct musical styles, using existing assets, with a team working across both Europe and America; this project was a fun challenge.

All created in After Effects; the visualiser made using multiple audio-bars to ensure the range was correct across both high and low frequencies, rendered and composited separately to minimise render time.

The subtle animations added to album art itself (swirling cloud, laser beam, head reflection) are a 15 second loop that adds visual interest to video without distracting from the music itself.
