Rubop is a quarantine baby. It started after being stuck in my little apartment due to a COVID exposure. I decided to use the time to challenge myself to make a font in 7 days. It ended up being closer to 10, but that’s still a win in my book. I sketched a few random letterforms and with no time to spare, quickly decided on a direction. How did I name this baby? Well, R, U, B, O and P were among the first letters I sketched out, in that order. It wasn’t until after looking at my sketches that I saw “RUBOP”, and it stuck from that point on.
Rubop includes two .OTF files, a regular version for that clean look, and a rough version for those chasing that handmade aesthetic.
