The Mighty Cascade Range

                                             THE MIGHTY CASCADE RANGE

The Cascade Range is part of a vast mountain chain that spans for over 500 miles from northern California to British Columbia.
The beautiful North Cascade Range, located in northwestern Washington State, has some of the most scenic, and geologically complex mountains in the United States. The sharp peaks, and rugged terrain of the northern portion of the range have an average elevation of 7,000 feet and are home to numerous alpine glaciers. Mount Baker at 10,781 feet (3,286 m),  Mount Shuksan at 9,131 feet (2,783 m) and Glacier Peak at 10,525 feet (3,207 m) are the three highest peaks in this area.  Mount Shuksan is the only one shown in these photos.
