I decided it was time for a new header and self-portrait for my social media accounts. I wanted to go in a totally different direction with something really saturated and colorful.
I started by drawing this wall of fantastical eyes for my header. After looking at all the websites where I have a profile I noticed that the profile picture tends to overlap the header in roughly the same space, so I left a blank spot for that on the bottom left.
I then drew a profile picture to match. This uses the same colors and fantastical eyes.
After I finished I decided I wanted to experiment and try my hand at something I've never done before, so I decided to turn this new self portrait into a 2D Vtuber model for livestreaming. Vtubers are animated characters that use live motion + face capture software so they can move live in time with a human. I altered the self portrait a little, and then rigged it using the Live2D program.
Since I stream art on Twitch, I decided to make an updated, animated overlay that matches this new vtuber model. Taking inspiration from the original header image I made this new animated overlay, where the eyes blink and move around. The full-length version of the overlay lasts for 5 minutes and loops, so that it can repeat continuously and seamlessly without the audience noticing.
