Women of Change Table Design

The form and program of this table had already been well established individually within our group, so the Z shaped design was mutually agreed upon. Material exploration led to the discovery that the 6” tall model to the right could support nearly 200lbs of vertical weight. This eliminated the need for any other bracing system, and increased the opportunities for design. As such, we created perforations within the metal, and added a double layer of steel at the bottom to keep a low center of gravity. Three of these tables can be made from a single sheet of 4’x8’ 3/16” steel with minimal waste, and only costs about $50 each. Project designed by Matthew Otricelli, Christian Kaulius, and Amanda Bonelli.
