CHINESE-MAURITIAN INVITES
This personal project was for a half Mauritian, half Chinese wedding. The design fuses these two vibrant cultures together. It incorporates the traditional form of the dragon and phoenix which represents the happiness between husband and wife. However, the phoenix here has been replaced with the Mauritian bird of paradise, showing the uniting of the two cultures. The shape of the Mauritius island has also been used to surround the chinese symbol for "happiness" and the lucky chinese colours of red and gold have been employed to mark the auspicious occasion.
