Ink on paper, 2020. Reduction lino-cut printing technique, inspired by traditional architecture in Old Jeddah. The Roshan aka Mashrabiya, is a traditional wooden structure built extruding from windows for aesthetic and functional purposes. The Roshan allow the sunlight to enter interior spaces while maintaining the residents' privacy. Additionally, the structure cools the interior by allowing the wind to circulate indoors while simultaneously offering shade for the shops on the ground floor and the people walking around the streets.
