Where Home Is: Virtual Tour Campaign

In the Spring of 2021, I was given the opportunity to create a campaign for a creative individual or group of my choice in my Design Studio III course ( ADV-471). I was lucky enough to get ahold of the incredibly talented photographer, Lily Pearl, and was permitted to use her photos for my assignment.

Both Lily and AS IT IS, played a massive role in my creative journey whilst in high school. The pop-punk lyricism about the struggles of small-town living and the loneliness one tends to feel in those situations was something that has always stuck with me.

Lily Pearl came on to cover the band in the North American tour. She documented the groups in vivid and extraordinary colors. She created a series of portraits outside of shows that added a new visual layer to the band's music that resonated with me heavily at the time.
I'd considered the most important asset was the album art and its connection to the band's prior releases. I wanted to create a visual mixture of the palettes and subject matter while still remaining an independent piece.

Using Photoshop, I merged a series of stock photos to create the album art. Then, I played with smoothing and blending over the photo assets to add the hand-painted element seen in the original Okay album art whilst still using photography like the Never Happy, Ever After album cover.
To build up the major album release, I created a series of pre-album singles to represent the formula used in the band's original Reimagined series. The photo choices were inspired by the lyrics of the Sophomore album release.
The final piece in advertising the new album and virtual tour was a series of Instagram posts and physical advertisements, like transit stations.
I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THE BAND'S ORIGINAL ALBUM ART USED AS EXAMPLES IN THIS PROJECT AND HAVE INCLUDED THEM SOLELY FOR THE SAKE OF REFERENCE.
