Master thesis investigates different relationships a person travelling in the area could establish with the local community and the environment. During research three strategies, or roles, were developed to experience a single place – the tourist, the traveller and the visitor. These approaches that evolved from the fieldwork in the villages of Lake Peipsi district, Estonia were translated into design proposals.
