THE ACCIDENTAL PRESIDENT - TITLE SEQUENCE
It was an absolute pleasure to work with our long time collaborator, writer, director, producer, James Fletcher on his documentary The Accidental President, which takes a detailed look back at Donald Trump's US Presidential Campaign in 2016.
The concept for the sequence aimed to convey an abstract visual journey depicting Trump's campaign trail across a distorted holographic landscape of the Presidential Seal that was being scanned by an unseen source during the sequence. We wanted to evoke that the Seal wasn't quite solid throughout, but was slowly solidifying as it was being scanned. At the same time it was being distorted by various influences as the campaign moved forward and even at the end of the sequence the Seal still wasn't quite solid enough and, like the power the President holds, it fades away afterwards.
To create the basic holographic look we took the 3D Seal from Cinema 4D into both Element 3D, Particular & Form within After Effects, layering up multiple instances to give us the desired look we were after. We then layered in video elements with using Form and also a variety of illustrated graphics to visualise key election points such as the US States and the Race to 270.
The final sequence was edited together with Premiere and music was composed by the amazing Dominic Lewis.
