Cross-Cultural Design Strategy Assignment 2: Design Solution Marketing Pack
AYES Marketing Pack
Designing marketing tools to promote a service that helps Afghan refugees in Australia
Brief:
Students must produce five different marketing items on a service that caters towards a refugee group. Out of the five items, one must be a poster and one must be a brochure. The remaining three can be of choice, but must be relevant to your product/service or campaign/target market

About:
AYES focuses on giving the Afghan youth an opportunity to adapt to the new environment they now live in. Adapting in a new environment can be hard which is why AYES will provide all the necessary language skills to adapt to the Australian learning environment as well as helping to prepare to find a job. Along with improving their English, the classes provide the opportunity to meet like minded individuals that have gone through the same experiences with them, making them feel more comfortable, realizing that they aren’t alone. It makes the classes a safe space for Afghan individuals, as everyone involved in the classes can understand each other more due to their shared background.
The main colour scheme for the brand is blue and white. The blue offers a sense of calmness and safety, which will make the brand less intimidating towards children. The white provides a contrast on the blue and makes the overall theme brighter and vibrant. Black is use for body text to make it more readable behind a white backdrop.
Circles are used to form the backdrop of each item. The round shapes compliments the blue colour, sharing the same dynamic of being safe and inviting.
The typeface used is ChronicaPro throughout the contents. The bold sans-serif allows the text to stand out while being readable. It also keeps a professional look to it.
To keep the theme of circles and the sense of safety, I based each stroke of the letters to be line with a circle. This is done to make the logo consistent and polished.

The colours on the letter E represents the colours of the Afghanistan flag to allow the brand to be distinct from other non Afghanistan education services.
