My submission for a jewelry design contest, based on theme 'My Biosphere".
I was inspired by the idea of "the self" and ways of communicating it. I have used the earth and the galaxy as metaphors to convey a sense of uniqueness, which is what fundamentally "the self" is, amongst infinity.The black pearl in the center represents the self and is inspired from the earth which is one planet in infinite galaxies that we know and call our own. The delicate biosphere that protects the earth is represented
through fragile crisscrossing lines which is symbolic of memories, dreams, emotions all all the other elements that defines the self and makes makes us the rare individual that we are.
