This Journal project is a collection of designs influenced by mixed media artist Kareem Rizk and the use of traditional media as well as digital media.

With this design , I wanted to incorporate more geometric shapes. So I started with some slanted shapes and then cut out a circular hole in the larger pink shape and cut out a circle of this wallpaper I found online and placed a pink circle behind it which I noticed in previous Rizk designs that he adds textured patterns in some of his circles. Next I chose a textured background which was too dark for the design so I decided to turn down the opacity. My next step was to add small text. I wanted to keep the smaller text to a minimum as not to stray away from the actual text about Rizk on the design. Punctuation is also something I like adding – it contributes to Rizks style. Next, I wanted to add imagery – such as people. I found some cut outs of old pictures on Pinterest in black and white which isn’t what I originally had planned for this design, however I tried it and liked it better. The contrast of the black and white pictures to the blocky bright colours of the shapes highlights the texture in the design and also allows more focus on the background. For my final design I decided to get rid of one of the imagery in the design.

Year 13 Component 1 project: 'Euphoric perspectives'. This ongoing project involves my take on the word 'Euphoria' and the visual meaning behind the word. I have taken a series of shoots that exhibit 'Euphoria' through long exposure photography and lighting.
