TOOTHPASTE WITH A TWIST’s design addresses the need for innovation in the traditional toothpaste packaging through 2 main goals:
Transforming a single-use product into a home-decor object.
Creating a sustainable packaging system which:
a) does not use a cardboard box
b) avoids single-use plastic components
c) uses recyclable materials
THOOTHPASTE WITH A TWIST is a two-component system: a container designed to look exquisite as a bathroom accessory, and a disposable cartridge.
The disposable cartridge is made of aluminum, with an outer structural tube made of recycled paper pulp; both highly recyclable materials and easy to separate from each other. While aluminum keeps the integrity of the content, the paper pulp offers an easy to brand surface.
Since the glass base has some weight to it, the user can easily interact with the product without lifting it from the surface. Once the cartridge is empty, simply rotate counterclockwise until the piston is in its lower position, remove the used cartridge and insert a new one.
