I created this typographic poster for my graphic design course with the New York Institute of Art and Design. It was made using Adobe Illustrator. The objective of this design was to create an appealing and eye-catching poster using typography as the main design element. I chose to advertise an event at an arts non-profit organization I interned at in the past. The poster utilizes a split-complementary color scheme. I wanted to integrate the typography with imagery and opted to have the mic take place of the "o" in "open" and "i" in "night." The yellow circle in the background serves both as a spotlight and a way to balance off the rigidity of the brick wall and main text. The poster overall employs contrast, emphasis, shape, texture, and color to create a visually appealing design.
