Urban Agriculture Market Potential - Scenarios for Cairo
Background
Today, cities are home to more than half of global population. With the number of people living in cities expected to continue to grow, concerns for food security and management of cities’ overconsumption of natural resources arise. Urban farming promises to resolve these issues by hosting a multitude of benefits including but not limited to food provision, revival of the economy, CO2 emissions reduction, biodiversity enhancement, .. etc.
Description
This group project aims at implementing different techniques and methods of urban farming in the Egyptian urban context through the case study of a selected site in Al-Nargis neighborhood, New Cairo, Egypt, with the purpose of creating a resilient community.
