3. Dark Ties - Game Project


Final college work, videogame, 3 months, 3 people working on it.

It's a first person shooter inspired in old school shooters and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Here we explored magic abilities, physics, destructible environments/enemy parts, VFX and shaders, elemental effects and more.

Main focus: Boss rush, satisfying mechanics, good replay value or curiosity in experimenting with things, interactions beyond shooting.

Quick lore: You are a human with the "alter-kin" mutation/curse, so, an "alter-kin". In theory, this boss fight happens at the end of the hypothetical story of the game, as the final boss. You fight him to stop him from absorbing the first alter-kin's power, someone god-like, the same entity that spread the power through earth.
 The mutation allows for many abilities, some of which are metamorphosis, elemental control, telekinesis, absorption, all balanced around Lavoisier's law (nothing is destroyed, nothing is created, everything is transformed).

This was by far my biggest game project, or at least the one that felt that way.

My contribution:

- Art direction and Game Design (GDD included + worldbuilding/lore)
- All concept art
- All assets  (models, UI, animations, VFX, shaders...etc)
- All sounds + implementation in code
- All imports
- Level design + building in Unity
- Implementing all the UI and programming the menus.
- Programming the boss part health logic + destructible environment base.
