Understanding community needs through the community itsself
BEFORE
I placed two boards around the W.S. Peirce Middle School with a title that read:
"What would you like to see in your community?"
and left them there with a marker for a few days to see what results i could get.
At the same time I made a forum for the community to go on and express their own ideas about what they wanted to see happen in the community and for the school and I went door to door with flyers letting people know about this new website.

DURING
While I was handing out flyers I saw that people were writing on my boards.
AFTER
I took the boards down and used what was said to understand what the people in the community wanted.
I took what was written on the boards and categorized them into 4 categories those being; Infrastructure, Social, Service, and Other.
Finally people were posting on the website and one common thing was turing the existing building into a Art Studio and School and the community even gave the precedent of the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
