UCF Knights Basketball Court

Orlando's Hometown Team Court Design
For the 2017-18 athletic year, I was commissioned to redesign the basketball court for UCF Knights Basketball. The theme for this design was incorporating the "essence" of Orlando into the court's design. I made the perimeter and paint black and went with a more golden wood for the court as a way to incorporate the school's Black and Gold colors. It was the first time I could design the court literally from the ground up picking out the wood, its finish, the exact type of black paint to be applied, as well as choosing the topcoat of the court. It was great working with the AD on this.

The final design features a stained cityscape of downtown Orlando, with roller coasters, a Ferris Wheel, palms, other city attractions, and the Lake Eola Fountain of The City Beautiful.
I created these mockups in Cinema 4D and Photoshop to showcase the art direction and final preview composition. The easiest part? Modeling the basketball goal and the court. This was one of my favorite 3D mockups I built and it served well. I hope you enjoyed the court if you had the opportunity to see it in person.
