Sigma Chi International Fraternity’s vision is to become the preeminent collegiate leadership development organization. This 28-page booklet was designed to provide information about Sigma Chi’s philosophy and expansion process to universities considering partnership with the Fraternity.
Havern School is a private school for children with diagnosed learning disabilities. Because each floor of the school looks very similar when exiting the stairwell, some of the students would get off on the wrong floor without realizing it. The school wanted to create wayfinding graphics to help both students and visitors find where they needed to go. Havern has beautiful trees on the school grounds so I utilized images of trees in different seasons to help make it obvious to the children which floor they were on.
Real Relationships offers programs to schools and churches to educate, inform and equip parents and students regarding the issues teens and children face. These rack cards were designed to help promote some of their program offerings.
Horizons is one of many leadership development programs created by Sigma Chi International Fraternity for which I have designed both participant and facilitator materials. Shown above are a few pieces of a recent re-design to modernize the look of a program first created nearly 20 years ago.
Self and the Christian is a workbook to help believers overcome the barriers imposed by our bondage to "Self". Written years ago for use in small-group workshops, the author wanted to modernize the look and self-publish the content, making it available to a larger audience.
The Norman Shield is a hardcover book of nearly 250 pages that Sigma Chi International Fraternity updates and prints every two years. The book serves to educate the undergraduates who pledge Sigma Chi on the history, traditions and values of the Fraternity. I was asked to update the design of the 47th Edition, without making it feel like a complete departure from previous editions. The cover remained the same, but I made minor adjustments to the page layout and livened up page spreads with design elements that sometimes break out of the master layout. Additionally I created image collages from historic photos of the Fraternity's founding members for the start of each chapter.
The Lancing of My Soul is a non-fictional account of a Pastor's personal battles with spiritual warfare. I designed the book cover and created 16 hand-drawn images to illustrate some of the experiences the author describes.
Havern School's mission is to create confident learners by nurturing the potential of students with diagnosed learning disabilities through specialized, small-group instruction and integrated therapies. This does not come cheap though, and the school relies on the gifts of generous donors to help fund this vital work. I designed this brochure as part of a mail campaign to solicit donations to the school, incorporating existing photos taken by school staff.
Sigma Chi Leadership Institute (SCLI) is the educational arm of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity. Recently SCLI was formally accepted as a candidate for accreditation by the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS), which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This catalog was created to describe the institution, explain the initial course offerings, and outline academic policies.
