These six paintings below were included in my final project for my Bachelor's Degree in Painting. It’s titled “Seven Nightmares,” and consist of seven Paintings inspired by Ancient Japanese Myths. These paintings were created using acrylic paint on canvas, as well as some touches of ink. Because I love anime and am drawn to Japanese culture, I decided on these paintings for my final project in 2013. For planning this project, I read articles on Japanese culture and let myself become inspired. I would stare at the canvas semi-long periods of time, mimicking Sumi-e artists, and let my imagination and lifetime-learned painting skills guide my creative process. I would spend so many hours painting that I could sometimes feel tears well up in my eyes.
