Paper toy

For this assignment I had to crate a printable and foldable paper toy. This paper toy has to be made for a made-up company. I chose to make a fantasy fair type of corsetry maker.  It was a really fun project to tackle! Let me show you how I made it.

Here are the sketches I made
This is the one I ended up using. I decided this design suited my concept best.

Next I started to make a couple of paper mock ups. The one on the left is my first try and it was way to wide the rest of the photos are of the second try. I was satisfied with the form so it was time for me to start working on the paper toy digitally.

I took apart the mock up I liked and made it into a base in photoshop. Then on separate layers I made the design. I also added the arms and ears. The hair bit is something I decided to scrap later on.

I printed a test version and I liked it a lot so I moved on to colouring.

I made two versions and got them printed on a3 paper.
Heads up! ahead are some photos of the final product. Some of the images have a fake knife/ dagger in it. The dagger is completely dull and made for reanactment purposes.

And this is how they turned out. I did a little photoshoot with them :)
In conclusion I really loved this project and I think my little figures turned out very cute! I learnt how to create foldable shapes and create charming little characters with them.
