Compass - New orientation experiences

Compass -  part 1

The Compass plugin allows you to experiment with a new mode of orientation. As in a treasure hunt, it does not perfectly indicate the route to be followed, but gives an indication of the direction. The routes are structured in cooperation with Unesco and allow, according to need, to visit the monuments and places worth seeing of a city in itineraries designed by experts. The mode of travel does not oblige the user to follow the most efficient route and allows him/her to get lost in the city, giving the possibility to discover hidden and native treasures that may not have been identified on the maps. We followed design thinking methodoloogies in order to develop the concept and UX tools to define the usability and interface of the product.

The work was intentionally inspired by Guy Debord's theory of drift (Théorie de la dérive, in Les Lèvres nues, no. 9, November 1956, Brussels).
