House cleaning app redesign
With some extra free time on my hands I've decided to add some more visual things to my portfolio. This is a redesign of one of the apps I use almost every day. The app is called Tody and it helps keep track of cleaning and other household tasks.
One of the views of the app is a to-do list. I find the view a bit too busy for my liking (see above). With a help of a basic design system I redesigned the view.
The to-do list view shows only the tasks assigned to the singed-in family member that are due or overdue on that day.
The redesign includes an empty state to-do list view (see below). Illustration not mine.
I maintained the most iconic Tody element, the gauge showing when something is due, and gave it a facelift. I removed some elements that seem redundant and unnecessary and changed the main navigation paradigm.
Since this is a personal project I could take such liberties but if the design was to be implemented I would follow it with a rigid user research to confirm my design hypotheses.
If you use the app you can also assign points to each task. Below is a prototype with points enabled. Try to mark the sweep and mop floor task as done to see it in action.
