Mashouf Wellness Center Recreational App Redesign
As a student and typical gym-goer at San Francisco State University, the Mashouf Wellness Center is a regular destination for all recreational needs. However, even though the Wellness Center's application carries the essential functionalities, its visual elements and navigation had potential for a rework.

Goal: Reimagine the Homepage and Navigation of the SFSU Mashouf Wellness Center to allow for for greater accessibility and usage.
The Original Application
Mashouf Wellness Center's current recreational app is functional, but problems in regards in its interface could use work. All of its icons are present in one screen, causing potential for information overload. Icons were also closely similar to each-other, which may create confusion to the user. An important problem to be solved was redoing the app's information architecture.

Competitor Profiling and Research
The Wellness Center held many similarities towards other gym apps like the Planet Fitness App, and 24 Hour Fitness's app 24toGo. Both competitors gave a personal and intimate experience towards its users. However, it was discovered that both apps attempted to convince its users to upgrade to a premium service for an extra fee. The Wellness Center had an opportunity because its audience are already admitted, and are students who attend its gym.

Iterations
The main focus of this redesign was to create a personal and comfortable experience with the user. Using color schemes, typography, and banners from San Francisco State's Identity System, it was possible to match the desktop-site to the app redesign.
Usability and Interface
The redesign treaded towards a feed-like interface that updated students on Mashouf Wellness Center's events and news. The addition of micro-interactions also called for a friendlier experience, while the hamburger menu sustained information architecture. Increased focus on its Intramural (REC) and Classes tabs also allowed for more usability, as these two aspects are a large part of the Wellness Center.

Conclusion
The Mashouf Wellness Center Redesign could be a great implementation to its current iteration. The redesign allows for greater legibility, easier navigation, and more affordances. This app potentially could become a hub for recreation for all students at San Francisco State, therefore improving student life altogether.
