As a capstone marketing project, we were given the opportunity to seek out small businesses and recreate/freshen their marketing plans. We were expected to freshen up what already existed, but to also present the company in a final presentation with new marketing campaigns and ideas to move forward.

Hankgoods.com offers leather wallets, handmade by Nick Kramer. Kramer is from Seattle and started his company in his own backyard, literally. I found out about Nick through a friend. We contacted him as a group and had a lot of fun with Nick's VERY new idea. Nick was using word of mouth as his main marketing tactic and only working with his wallets for a year at the time. He is a very creative individual with a million and one plans. He is hoping to create wallets for sometime and really expand selling from just his apartment to possible retail or head in a nonprofit direction.

As a group, we defined the target market being young men and threw out ideas of expanding to women with his designs. There really were endless opportunities in this project. We focused on what was at hand and presented the, "Throughout the Years" Campaign. This gave families opportunity to personalize the purchased wallet and pass it down throughout the years. The campaign would also let people create "lines" of wallets - for example "Johnson" could be the label of a certain design and so on. I had a photo shoot with Kramer's product and enjoyed playing around with Photoshop and his design visions for Hank.
