Batik Printing is traditional style of print in which wax is used to block the portion which is to be left undyed.

Tie and Dye Style of printing is another resist style of printing in which small stones are tied to block dye from dyeing that area.

Screen Printing is one of the most earliest methods of printing in which a screen is made first and then the fabric is printed with the screen.

Here in my project I have tried my hand at each style of printing, the screen for screen printing was self made using potassium dichromate and polyvinyl alcohol.

Crimp Style or Crepon Style of printing is a technique in which fabric is printed with thickened sodium hydroxide and then immersed in water which results in printed areas shrinking due to the mercerising effect of sodium hydroxide to give crimped effect.

Burnt out style of printing is a process of removing fibre. In this style of printing a polyester cotton blend of fabric is taken and then the cotton portion is burnt out at the printed area.

Brasso fabric is unique type of fabric in which layers are burned to form the design. In this style the entire cotton portion is degraded as against the burnt out style in which cotton is degraded only at the printed area.

Raised style of printing is oldest style of printing in which the colour is made visible on seemingly white cloth during the wet treatment process. In this process one of the dye forming components is printed on the fabric but no colour is visible on the seemingly printed parts however colour appears as soon as fabric is passed through a solution of the other colour component.

Discharge style of printing is when a fully dyed fabric is printed with a chemical agent which destroyd the colour at the print area on the grround shde to produce a white print on coloured fabric.

In resist style of printing a resisting agent is applied to the print area and then the fabric undergoes dyeing where dye is taken up on the entire fabric but the print area to give white resist on coloured background.
