Driving Jensen: Lighting Paths

Driving Jensen: Lighting Paths

A place-making collaboration between the University of Houston Architecture and Graphic Design students, this project is a series of creative interventions and installations that activate Jensen Drive. This specific intervention sought to remedy the lack of lighting in the street by erecting lanterns along the road to illuminate and demarcate the sidewalk. Papel picados reflect and celebrate the demographic makeup of the neighborhood. The solar charged lanterns are comprised of uplifting words die-cut into the surface to shine positive messages at night.
