I discovered quite by accident a few old pictures of my mother, I was fascinated by the resemblance, so I decided to start working on this project. I was so surprised to see myself in her expressions, her appearance and taste for clothing. I begun a research of other pictures of her, and I tried to recreate those poses, locations, shy glances etc. It’s not just the act of staging old images, but to investigate the resemblance between mother and daughter, the differences in our tastes and above all, the attitude in front of the camera. Although the images were treated in color, locations and clothing to get closer to the original images, it’s interesting to notice the differences at a generational level: my glance is more cheek, my posture is more self-confident; small differences that have made this research project so stimulating.
