Lost In The Crowd (Graduation Project)

Lost In The Crowd

A print series inspired by the street vendors of Mumbai. Mumbai has roughly 2,50,000 street vendors and Kolkata has nearly 2,00,000. The street vendors market many goods, such as clothes and hosiery, household goods and food items, manufactured by home based workers, who have no other channels of marketing the products that they produce. They also ensure the availability of goods and services at cheaper rates to people. And still, the vendors are often regarded as public nuisance.

Each face, has a different story to tell. A life full of struggles and hardwork. Gray lives lost in a crowded colorful busy noisy sea. A city of dreams. The series of 13 Illustrations in total which was hand rendered and partially digitally colored. Graduation project for MIT Institute of Design Pune India.
