My ballpoint pen drawing of a geisha submitting an Oni demon with a rear naked choke hold was turned into a jiujitsu rashguard and grappling tights.

The video below shows speeded up footage of the biro drawing process. To get to the final product the entire process actually took way longer. Most of the time was during the sketching phase with many hours spent on trying to get the character postures and expressions correct (see rought sketches below). There was no photo referencing or tracing of established images, this drawing is a pure creation from my imagination (which I found pretty hard as I usually need to use a bunch of photo references to help.

The final rashguards and spats features a much darker blue compared to the original ballpoint pen ink: in Photoshop, I extracted the pen lines from the scan of my drawings and converted it to greyscale. With this layer intact I was able to convert it to any colour I chose. In the end, I went with a dark blue (Pantone 2765) as it just looked stronger against a white background and I knew it would print well on the rashguard textile. I sent a parge PSD file to the garment supplier and they sent back a prototype sample for inspection.
