    Tea for two brightly-colored bears….and all of their other woodland friends! Someone once told me that a good artist never deletes or throws away their old work. Sounds like advice to become a hoarder to me, but in this case I'm absolutely glad I followed it. Last week I found an old drawing of two bears at a table that I hit a wall with back in June. With fresh eyes though, I saw a fun series and got to work! In this series I practiced making large watercolor swatches, photographing them, and then digitally layering them into my wacom tablet drawings. It's amazing how much the swatches saturate the color of the animals and makes them pop. I design the characters directly on the tablet rather than drawing them on paper before hand - I find it easier to keep up with my own thoughts that way. Read Less
