For this project we were asked to transform the staircases of the Ronald Tutor Campus Center at USC. We were asked to make it space that is inviting for students and would encourage them to use these staircases instead of the elevators. My concept behind this project was creating a "Take the Stairs Campagin" that combined the concepts of health and nature. I wanted to encourage students to use the stairs for the health benifits by placing text on the bottom of the steps. Through this students feel encouraged that they are benifiting their health. However, going with this idea I still felt that not as many students would choose to take the stairs. So i decided to place scienic nature scenes all over the walls to transform the space. By placing nature scenes on the wall it creates a relaxing atmosphere as well as making students feel as if they were actually hiking through these nature scenes. This space would be the place that students could get away from the stress of school and just relax. By transforming this space students will be benifiting their health as well as being transported to a scenic nature escape. Read Less
