RETAZOS | industrial glam
Sustainability and the transformation of traditionally masculine cloth into the feminine silhouette. The fabric used in this collection is 100% upcycled denim. As a designer, Marisa Bonilla promised to create unique pieces, mindful of the fashion industry's impact on the Earth. Using pre-loved clothing gives these fabrics a new life while helping to fight against fast fashion. The average American trashes approximately 65 pounds of textiles a year. In this collection, Bonilla created all of the looks with around 20 pounds of recycled denim.
Using upcycled fabric is not just a trend; Bonilla believes this is the future to creating a sustainable industry. Moreover, using denim as the main fabric for the collection materialized it in a sturdy industrial glam look. A mixture of rigid denim and sexy silhouettes, the garments will make anyone look both beautiful and powerful at the same time.
