SZLUS is the title of a new song by a young Polish band - Damn Good Coffee. Recently, I had a pleasure to create a lyric video for this piece.
The idea for this project originated from two things. First one, was the super-dynamic beat of the song, which determined the tempo of the animation. It had to be fast, strong and brave. The second thing were the photos, provided by the band. The photo session was kept in three colors - black, white and red, which I also carried over to the animation. The very simple font I chose for the project - Oswald - allowed me to get the maximum from the type animation.
Apart from the photos of the band, I used illustrations by Marina Gorskaya presenting leaves, twigs and fruits of a coffee plant. This way I referred to the name of the band - Damn Good Coffee. The animation of the blooming plant suited the slower instrumental part of the song perfectly.
