The goal of this project was to combine the essence of Luxury from Louis Vuitton with the raw characteristics of the drill. Here, i tried to imagine a new evolution of a drill & a new market benchmark for personal tool by careful juxtaposition of 2 opposing elements.
Even if the hand drill is a common tool found in nearly home, there is not a strong aesthetic identity between professional and personal use.The total usage of a non professional drill by a casual user is less than 30 minutes the regardless of the drill. Therefore, an opportunity to create a drill for a casual user with a new language
I chose Louis Vuitton as the brand due to its valued luxury and the drill as the product of application. The values of the 2 elements were broken down to understand essence which according to me, for Louis Vuitton represented through pure form of luxury and the drill represented by function and aggressiveness of machines. These 2 elements were translated to combine the inspiration for my form research.
