"I strap on my knapsack again."

As for me, travel is the best assistant of thinking. There is nowhere for me to have a better inward contemplation than on planes, ships or trains. With the view around me, the inward contemplation comes to flow naturally. The view means everything that I can see, hear and feel everything vividly with my whole body. I can sense the smell of the local people and their living, which gives me a lecture on the beauty in the world. I consciously observe the view around me, and then revive the meanings of life from the deep inside of me.

I dream the bohemian life under color of travel, which I think is the most active and powerful experience. The value I pose on my travels, most of which are the wanderings without the destination, makes drastic changes on my sensibility. When I travel abroad, I usually have no itinerary. The only thing in my hand is just a ticket for return. During travelling, I encounter uncountable troubles. Innumerably a critical moment and a feeling of relief cross each other. In this progress, my sensibility goes up to the climax. A hard, sometimes lonely, travel is paradoxically pure and passionate happiness to me.

My works come from the memories and traces of my travels. The liberal use of lines and texts takes a part of the exit of my feelings and emotions. The exotic images such as elephants or camels are the tools expressing the attractiveness of foreign places. The pieces of paper with traces of travel are brought together through my frenzied habit of collecting. Train tickets, small notes, various memos take a place of a scrap of memory. Both drawing on the scene and through recollection are released through a new viewpoint. This is the action where I meet the true self of mine, and is the newly-formed meaning of life that I accumulate from travel at the same time.
