Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. A travel in time.

Barcelona's , Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter).
                              A travel in time.

The beautiful neighbourhood known to travellers as the Gothic Quarter and to Catalans as Barri Gòtic ,is the historic centre of the old city of Barcelona. It stretches from La Rambla to Via Laietana, and from the  seafront to Ronda de Sant Pere. It is a part of Ciutat Vella district and includes the remains of the city's Roman wall and several medieval landmarks. Much of the present-day character of the area  dates to the 19th and early 20th centuries where small alleys, old buildings , beautiful plazas, labyrinth style streets ,gothic churches and hundreds of people going about their daily lives compose a magnificent area and an extraordinary place to visit that often gives you the impression that you have, somehow, travelled back in time.
I've travelled to Barcelona on the 10th of October 2021 and the weather was surprisingly good for the season .That allowed me to take my camera and hit the streets from day one, resulting in many miles walked per day and twice my normal rate of photographs taken. I was blown away by the area and quickly found myself exploring even the parts that not many tourists go. Every now and then I would find myself in a quiet, full of shade, plaza where I would enjoy a cold beer and charged my batteries so I can continue my roaming in this amazing labyrinth . With the next set of photos I will ,as always, try to demonstrate both the Gothic quarter’s character and the beautiful people that live in it.
