To design a 14W Portable Speaker for Young Adults in India that disrupts the
recurring tonality offered generally at this price segment.
boAt Stone 1200F was designed targeted towards the young adult music enthusiasts of India. The form is inspired by Dholak, which is a a folk percussion instrument. The CMF celebrates our vibrant and colorful country, and makes the product more fashionable. The eardrums consist of premium embossed metallic plated branding. The shell is made up of soft curves that are carefully wrapped in a recyclable fabric. The Fabric pattern was developed using a silhouette of the product, The color blocking increases focus on the control board. These refined aesthetics with flagship feature makes the product one of a kind in this price segment.
boAt turned consumer electronics into a fashion statement. A market research was conducted to find the most commonly implemented colorways in modern textiles. This enabled us to generate pantones that would not only look good at the time but will age gracefully. These colors when implemented with the above pattern, bring a duality to the product. Which is not only breaking the status quo but also proudly representing the design philosophy at boAt.
The top has two loops for the straps, that adds to the portability of the product. The bottom houses, two round
rubberized legs with an embossed dashed pattern to increase the grip while reducing the excessive wear.
The soft curves of the shell in addition to silicone based convex de-bossed buttons, that naturally
mimics a mirror effect to the touch. Aids in improving the overall ergonomics of the product.
Each Eardrum on the sides, contains an embossed logo plate with a metallic high gloss coating.
That not only provides great brand visibility but also adds to the premium aesthetics, that the product has to offer.
The eardrums are concealed by a translucent silicone cloak, that lights up with RGB LED'S.
