Steps to produce a reduction linoprint-
1st image showcases the finished image with ageing added with acrylic washes.

2nd image shows the block inked up with a gold metalic ink which gets printed across the whole image area except the spots which are meant to remain paper coloured.

3rd image shows the print after the block has been cut again so the cross is the only part of the print that will end up showing primarily gold. I like to keep my ink dispersal salty so artifacts of the process are part of the final image.

4th image shows the block carved and inked for the final impression.  You can see the change this time is the appearance of the lettering so the background colour has actually been printed last.

5th & 6th images show the prints after the final impression but before ageing has been added.

The last image shows my source material, a match box advertisement from the last century produced by the Solo Lipnik company in Czechoslovakia, who seem to have had a wonderfull string of graphic design successes.
