Do Lixo ao Luxo - Recreate
Higher Education Project
The project "Do Lixo ao Luxo" it's a performative installation. A technological platform was developed, in the programming languages Cycling74 Max, which promotes the production of audiovisual content in real time, explores the relationship between sound / image and the different natures (video, sound, voice), aiming to create a dynamic communication system, composed of two computers, sharing among themselves tasks and collaborating in the generation of content, that is, what is produced on each computer results from the predefined orders in the software, the user's actions and the commands sent by another computer(s) and/or user(s).
Assuming the words "Recycle", which means "transform material already used for a new use" and "Reuse" which presents itself as "giving another use to something", our objective was to use these terms in a very literal way and take advantage of records of work performed by us, which at the time of its elaboration, were considered "garbage" or "bloopers", giving them a new outfit. We consider that these discarded materials, through a transformation, can also have a defined function and a new utility.
