This is an infographic done for the Philippine chapter of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an international humanitarian organization that protect victims of international and internal armed conflicts, including war prisoners, refugees, civilians and non-combatants. This documents the activities done by the ICRC to help those affected by the 2017 conflict between government forces against pro-ISIS militants in the Southern city of Marawi in Lanao Del Sur, located in the island of Mindanao.
Initial studies were done to reflect the seriousness of the situation but was deemed too dark, and inconsistent with the overall look of the report this infographic was made for. Further studies were made to look more optimistic despite the challenges faced by the ICRC, as well as to accommodate additional verified data from ICRC.
